Montero hit Naylor with a 96 MPH fastball off the shoulder in the fifth inning of the Tigers' 4-0 loss to Seattle. While Montero maintains he wasn't intentionally throwing at Naylor, the 2024 All-Star insists otherwise. "Framber Valdez was pointing and laughing at me on the bench, so I knew it was on purpose,” Naylor said after the game.
