Joshua Van Survives Tatsuro Taira’s Grappling Storm and Scores a Wild Round 5 Finish

Van survived early takedowns and mounts before flipping his first flyweight title defense into chaos at UFC 328. Taira controlled long grappling stretches, but Van’s jab, uppercuts and late Round 2 knockdown shifted the fight. After another scramble-heavy fourth, Van stuffed Taira’s final push and finished him with uppercuts and hooks in Round 5 to retain gold.
