Justin Gainey Lands NC State Head Coach Job After Tennessee’s Elite Eight Exit

After Tennessee’s Elite Eight loss, NC State moved quickly and hired Gainey as head coach. The former Wolfpack guard and staffer returns to his alma mater after five seasons with the Vols. “NC State is a great place. It is home,” Gainey said during Tennessee’s tournament run. He replaces Will Wade, who left Raleigh for LSU.
