Kansas City Royals Pursue Starling Marte for Veteran Outfield Depth

The Royals are in talks to sign Starling Marte, per Yancen Pujols. Marte, entering his age-37 season after four years with the Mets, hit .270 with nine homers and 34 RBIs in 98 games in 2025. If signed, the veteran outfielder would give Kansas City speed, outfield depth and postseason experience as a late-season upgrade and leadership in the clubhouse.
