Mychal Thompson, Klay's dad, played five seasons with the Lakers and finished his career with them. When a fan asked Mychal to convince his son to come to LA, he said, "I'm trying," multiple times. Klay is currently entering the final year of a 3-year, $50 million deal. The Mavs are reportedly hesitant to trade him to the Lakers.
