Kohei Arihara Signs Four-Year Nippon-Ham Deal, Ending MLB Return Bid

World Baseball Network reports a four-year Nippon-Ham pact worth about $15.4M (~$3.9M AAV) after Arihara hit free agency Dec. 2. He posted a 2.36 ERA in 26 SoftBank starts in 2024. Texas gave him an MLB shot after 2018-20 in Japan, but a shoulder aneurysm led to surgery. He was DFA’d in September 2022. He returned in 2023 and stabilized in NPB.
