The Lakers are actively pursuing Kuminga and could pitch him on becoming their starting small forward on a discounted one-year deal, according to Marc Stein. Kuminga averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during the 2025-26 season. The Hawks declined his $24.3 million team option, making him an unrestricted free agent. Kuminga may be open to a prove-himself role.
