Leon Slater Tests Carmelo Hayes In SmackDown U.S. Open Challenge

TNA X-Division champ Slater stepped into Hayes’ U.S. title open challenge on SmackDown, but Hayes notched his third defense with a front-facelock top-rope cutter. Slater’s Jan. 15 iMPACT bout with Myron Reed vanished from ads after Reed joined AEW with The Rascalz. Slater was also removed from Jan. 17 Genesis, replaced by Joe Hendry. It capped his busy crossover week.
