Raiders owner Mark Davis said the team’s No. 1 overall pick played a role in hiring Klint Kubiak. “Having the 1st pick… there’s a good chance we go on the offensive side of the ball,” Davis said, adding the Raiders wanted “a young, offensive mind.” On Fernando Mendoza, Davis said, “He looked good. He won the national championship.”
