Massachusetts Golf Course Sold for $25M, Set to Become Major Solar Site

Maplegate Country Club, an 18-hole public course in Franklin and Bellingham, sold for $24.84M on Dec. 30 and will be converted into two 15-megawatt solar systems. Officials said the project could power 6,000 income-eligible households and save $30M over contract life. Town administrator Jamie Hellen called it a “win-win,” adding it may generate up to $280K in new taxes.
