Max Scherzer Off to Scoreless Spring, Says Thumb Issue Is Gone

The veteran is off to a strong spring, allowing just two hits across 8.2 scoreless innings through two starts. Scherzer struck out five in his latest outing and said improved health has made a difference. “So now I’m able to go out there and physically be who I am,” he said, noting his thumb is no longer flaring up after 50 pitches.
