Jon Heyman reported New York will assume the $22M left on Robert’s deal: a $20M salary in 2026 plus a $2M buyout on his $20M club option for 2027. The center fielder arrives from Chicago in the Acuña-Pauley trade, giving the Mets a cost-certain bridge year before deciding on 2027. If he thrives, New York can pick up the option.
