Mexico Beat South Africa After Two Red Cards in World Cup Opener

Julian Quinones opened scoring in the ninth minute before Yaya Sithole saw red for a DOGSO foul on Brian Gutierrez at 50’. Raul Jimenez doubled Mexico’s lead in the 67th, Themba Zwane received South Africa’s second red at 84’. Mexico's Cesar Montes also saw one in the injury time. Mexico survived the Group A chaos to seal the opening win.
