Minnesota Vikings to Release DT Javon Hargrave Today, Also Part Ways With Harrison Smith

The Minnesota Vikings are releasing veteran defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, according to Adam Schefter. The move clears roughly $11 million in 2026 cap space. Hargrave, a two-time Pro Bowler, had 52 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 16 games last season. Minnesota has also officially released longtime safety Harrison Smith. The veteran has not yet decided on his plans for the 2026 season.
