NASCAR Dumps Playoff Format, Returns to the Chase System With Some Changes

The new Chase format uses the framework of the system in place from 2004-2013. The top 16 drivers following the regular-season finale will advance to the postseason, and the points will be reseeded. Regular-season champion earns 25-point cushion heading into final 10 races. Qualification strictly based on points, no 'win-and-in'. Wins are worth 55 points, an increase from 40 previously.
