YouTuber Garrett Mitchell, aka Cleetus McFarland, confirmed Biffle, his wife, and two children died when his Cessna crashed in Statesville at 10:15 a.m. Regional airport manager John Ferguson said it was “fully engulfed,” adding, “We have no information on the cause.” Biffle, 55, was known for his Hurricane Helene relief efforts and was named among NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers.
