NASCAR Will Not Hesitate to Shift the Daytona 500 to Avoid Super Bowl Clash

NASCAR announced the 2027 Daytona 500 will take the green flag Feb. 21, seven days after Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for Feb. 14. A similar change could also happen for 2026. "The Daytona 500 is our Super Bowl. Creating some distance and not overlap is something that we'll continue to make sure that we do," said NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps.
