Nationals Add NPB Lefty Foster Griffin On $5.5M Deal For 2026 Rotation

The Nationals are bringing Griffin back to MLB on a one-year, $5.5M deal with $1M in incentives, per Robert Murray. The lefty logged eight MLB innings with the Royals from 2020–22, then rebuilt his value with Japan’s Yomiuri Giants. Over three NPB seasons, he posted a 2.57 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 25.1% K-rate and 5.5% walk rate across 315.2 innings.
