Native Groups Split as Commanders Unveil New Spear Logo
Washington’s new alternate logo featuring a spear has drawn immediate backlash and support from Native groups. The Association on American Indian Affairs said, “We are not your mascot,” while NAGA praised the “small piece of Native imagery.” Team president Mark Clouse admitted, “We’re not always going to make everybody happy,” but added, “We love it.”
