NBPA Blasts 65-Game Rule as Cade Cunningham’s Awards Case Hangs in Balance

The NBPA backed Cunningham after his collapsed lung put postseason honors in jeopardy. In a statement shared by Tim Reynolds, the union called his possible ineligibility “a clear indictment” of the 65-game rule and said the policy must be “abolished or reformed” for significant injuries. Detroit’s star had played 61 games before being sidelined due to his condition.
