NCAA Eligibility Shake-Up Could Reshape College Basketball’s Talent Market

The NCAA’s new five-year eligibility clock effectively ends redshirts and limits athletes to five years after high school graduation or turning 19. For basketball, the biggest impact could be closing the international loophole that let older pros consider college, reducing Yam Madar-style cases while making roster planning younger, tighter and more legally predictable across recruiting cycles.
