NCAA Moves Toward Allowing Athletes, Staff to Bet on Pro Sports

The NCAA’s Division I Committee has proposed allowing student-athletes and athletic staff to bet on professional sports, pending approval from Divisions II and III. Betting on college games however remains banned. “This change lets us focus on protecting the integrity of college games,” said Illinois AD Josh Whitman, while stressing it’s “not an endorsement of sports betting.”
