NCAA President Says Changes Are Needed To Protect College Sports Act

Charlie Baker praised the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act as a significant step toward stabilizing college athletics but said several provisions require revision. In a letter to member schools, Baker called those changes “essential” to protecting student-athletes and preserving long-term stability. He said the NCAA will work with lawmakers to refine the legislation while continuing to push for federal reforms in the NIL and transfer portal era.
