New York Mets Elevate Jeff Albert To Lead Hitting Program In 2026

With Eric Chavez and Eric Barnes out, Albert moves from director of hitting development to an in-dugout role at Mets. The plan is to “complement him with another hitting coach,” per Jeff Passan. Previously with the Astros and Cardinals, he served as St. Louis’s hitting coach from 2019–2022, when Paul Goldschmidt won the MVP. Carlos Mendoza’s staff remains unchanged.
