NFL, CBS Near New $3B Broadcast Deal
The NFL is reportedly negotiating a new media deal with Paramount Global that could see CBS pay more than $3 billion annually to keep its Sunday afternoon broadcast package. The proposed agreement would extend CBS’s rights through the 2033-34 season and remove an opt-out clause after 2029. If finalized, the deal would represent roughly a 50% increase over CBS’s current $2.1 billion yearly payment.

Police Release Bodycam Footage from Night of Doug Martin’s Death
Oakland police released bodycam, surveillance footage and 911 calls from the night former NFL RB Doug Martin died in custody. Video shows Martin breaking into a home while acting erratically. His mother told dispatch he was in a mental-health crisis and hadn’t slept for three days. After a struggle with officers, Martin later stopped breathing and died at a hospital.
