"The NFL got the 'bench' it was looking for. There will be 10 officials on that bench," Adam Schefter reported. Six will be backups who are guaranteed regular-season games. Another four will be college officials who will serve as apprentices, officiating training-camp practices and preseason games. Those four will be plucked from the league’s Mackie Development Program.
