NFL Policy Calls For Six-Game Baseline Suspension In Domestic Violence Cases
Under the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, a first violation involving domestic violence carries a baseline suspension of six games without pay. The policy covers offenses including criminal assault, domestic violence, dating violence, child abuse and certain sexual assault cases. However, the league can adjust the punishment upward or downward depending on aggravating or mitigating circumstances uncovered during its investigation.
