Notre Dame Secures Future CFP Safety Net Under New Rules

Notre Dame, after dropping to No. 11 and missing this year’s CFP, will be protected starting in 2026. AD Pete Bevacqua says a CFP memorandum guarantees the Irish a playoff spot if they finish top 12 in a 12-team field, or top 13 if the CFP expands to 14 teams. Their 2025 snub would not occur under the revised system.
