Officially on IL: Mets Lose Clay Holmes To Fractured Fibula For Long Time
A 111.1 mph liner fractured Holmes' right fibula in the fourth inning against the Yankees. He "will be down for a long time," manager Carlos Mendoza said. The righty still completed 4 1/3 innings before New York placed him on the injured list. He owns a 2.39 ERA with a 56.0 percent ground ball rate in 52 2/3 innings.
