Oklahoma Strikes Early in Fourth, Cuts Alabama Lead

Oklahoma answered early in the fourth quarter, cutting Alabama’s lead to 27-24. On the Sooners’ second play of the period, John Mateer connected with Deion Burks for a 37-yard touchdown. The score trimmed a deficit Alabama built after erasing a 17-0 hole, taking its first lead in the third quarter and extending it late with a Conor Talty field goal.
