Ole Miss’ final Hail Mary ended with controversy. Trinidad Chambliss threw deep as De’Zhaun Stribling tried to make a play, but Miami defensive back Ethan O’Connor appeared to grab him by the collar. No flag was thrown. Even with a catch, Stribling likely would have landed out of bounds. Miami eventually lifted the coveted trophy as the contest ended 31-27.
