Pat Riley Rejects Tanking as a Path for the Heat
Riley drew a hard line on Miami’s direction, saying, “I’m not going to change, I’m not going to try to lose, I’m not going to tank.” He added, “I can’t stand the word,” pushing back on how normalized tanking has become around the league. For Riley, the Heat will keep chasing wins, even when the easier long-term route says otherwise.
