Patriots Bolster WR Depth, Sign Hall of Famer’s Son Brenden Rice

The Patriots are signing WR Brenden Rice — son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice — ahead of the trade deadline, per Jordan Schultz. Drafted by the Chargers in the seventh round this season, Rice posted 1,030 yards and nine TDs in his college career. He was later released this summer, before attending a Patriots workout in September as a free agent.
