Patriots Issue Statement After Report on Stefon Diggs Facing Criminal Charges

Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges stemming from a Dec. 2 incident. In a statement, the team said it is “aware of the accusations,” that Diggs “categorically denies the allegations,” and that New England “supports Stefon” while it “cooperate[s] fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL.” Diggs is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 23.
