Patriots’ Jahlani Tavai Mourns Loss of Unborn Daughter After Partner’s Medical Emergency

Patriots linebacker Tavai missed the Cincinnati trip for personal reasons, and now his partner Kalei Mau has shared the tragedy behind it. Mau revealed she suffered a rare blood infection on Nov. 20, was placed in a six-day coma, and their unborn daughter Ka Ua passed away. Tavai returned to the team on Nov. 28, with teammates and coaches rallying around him.
