Pierce refused to “sugarcoat” Denver’s first-round collapse, saying Jokic deserves LeBron-level scrutiny after losing while being “the best player in the league.” He said if LeBron lost like this “at the peak of his powers,” he’d be scolded after years of MVP dominance. Pierce added Jokic is “in his prime” and “you’re not supposed to lose in the first round.”
