PGA Tour’s Power Boom: Drives Up 30 Yards Since 2000

Golf writer Jamie Kennedy highlighted how power has exploded on the PGA Tour. Average driving distance has jumped from 272.7 yards in 2000 to 302.8 in 2025. Players averaging 300-plus yards went from one to 115, while 169 of 180 now top 290. Clubhead speed has climbed from 112.4 mph in 2007 to 116.5 in 2025 across the board.
