Pirates vs Guardians Postponed Due to Dangerous Wildfire Smoke Air Quality

The Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians' series opener at Progressive Field was postponed on Friday due to hazardous air quality from wildfire smoke drifting from northern Minnesota and across the Canadian border. Cleveland's AQI hit 350, well into the dangerous range, forcing MLB to act. It is the first postponement of the 2026 season due to air quality.
