Portland Fire Hire Vanja Cernivec as GM Ahead of Inaugural Season

The expansion franchise named Cernivec GM after her role in building the Valkyries’ inaugural season. The Valks have already become the most successful debut franchise in WNBA with a 19-18 record, with 7 games left. A former Slovenian national team player, Vanja previously worked with the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program and the Chicago Bulls’ international scouting staff.
