“The Raiders officially select Mendoza No. 1 overall. Their franchise QB," Ian Rapoport tweeted on Thursday. He added that Kirk Cousins will be the starting QB initially for the Raiders. The Indiana star and Heisman Trophy winner threw for 3,535 yards with 41 touchdowns against only six interceptions in 2025. Raiders minority owner Brady will mentor Mendoza.
