Rangers Sign Danny Jansen on Two-Year Deal to Stabilize Catcher Spot

Texas moved to plug its catching hole by signing veteran Danny Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract with up to $1 million in bonuses. After non-tendering Jonah Heim, the Rangers will pair Jansen with Kyle Higashioka in 2026. The front office values Jansen’s game-calling and work with pitchers as they retool after an 81–81 season under manager Skip Schumaker.
