Report: Vikings To Release QB Brett Rypien

Minnesota reshaped its QB room Monday, trading Sam Howell to the Eagles and signing Carson Wentz as J.J. McCarthy’s backup. Rypien, who spent much of 2024 on the roster, now exits while undrafted rookie Max Brosmer remains—at least for now. Rypien threw for 15-of-29 for 151 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception this preseason.
