Rick Pitino Signs Contract Extension After Ending St John’s 27-Year Sweet 16 Drought

This year, during his third season at St John's, Pitino managed to take the team to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1999. He's been rewarded with a new contract that will end following the 2029-30 season. It includes a significant pay raise that according to Pete Thamel, makes Pitino the Big East's second-highest paid coach.
