Rintaro Sasaki, Drafted By the Marlins, Played Under Shohei Ohtani’s Father As A Child

Miami drafted Sasaki out of Stanford in the eighth round of the amateur draft. The 21-year-old played under Ohtani's father, Roku, as a kid and is Japan's all-time high school home run leader. Sasaki played two seasons at Stanford, hitting .262 with 16 homers and 47 RBIs as a sophomore last year. Fukuoka SoftBank (NPB) hold his exclusive negotiating rights.
