San Francisco 49ers Release Veteran Running Back Khalil Herbert
The 49ers are releasing veteran running back Khalil Herbert after signing him earlier this month to bolster their injury-hit backfield. Herbert played in one preseason game for San Francisco, recording six carries for 18 yards and two catches for 35 yards. The 28-year-old enters free agency with 1,957 rushing yards, nine touchdowns and a 4.7-yard average across 63 career NFL games.
