Gilgeous-Alexander said joining Nash as the only Canadians with back-to-back MVPs is “special,” especially because their relationship goes back years. He said Nash “instilled confidence” in him when he was young, believing he could become an NBA player before many others did. Hearing that from a two-time MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander said, “It was big for me as a kid.”
