Shohei Ohtani Falls a Triple Short of Cycle in Dominant WBC Opener

Ohtani powered Samurai Japan’s WBC opener vs Chinese Taipei, going 3-for-4 with a double, grand slam and RBI single. His only out was a line drive to first. Ohtani finished one triple shy of the cycle and exited in the seventh. The explosive night pushed his WBC line to a .750 average with 1 HR, 5 RBI and a 2.500 OPS.
