Jones said his whiffs showed up when “my foot was off the ground,” so he went old-school: “get your foot down.” He studied Ohtani: “The best guy with the toe-down swing,” and copied the lower-half move. Aaron Judge noticed he’s “ready to hit” once the toe-tap lands. After a 35.4% K rate, Jones is .300 with three spring homers.
