Stanford Football Receives Historic $50M Donation from Former Player

Former Stanford player Bradford M. Freeman, now a partner at private equity firm Freeman Spogli & Co., has donated a record $50 million to the Cardinal football program — the largest in school history. Freeman said he hopes the gift “heralds a new era of excellence” as Stanford, 2-3 this season, continues its rebuild after missing bowl games since 2018.
