Starz Greenlights Ippei Mizuhara Gambling-Scandal Drama With Shohei Ohtani Backdrop

Starz is developing a Lionsgate TV drama on Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter of Ohtani. He was fired after allegedly stealing millions to cover gambling debts. Alex Convery will write with Justin Lin directing and co-writing. The series charts Mizuhara’s rise from drifter to insider before his guilty plea and near five-year prison sentence. Ohtani wasn’t implicated.
